Prof. Dr. Ir. Hairul Basri, M.Sc. completed his undergraduate degree (S1) in Soil Science at Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. He then continued his master’s degree (S2) at Kyushu University, Japan, focusing on Agricultural Cultivation, and at the same university he also earned his doctorate (S3) in Agricultural Cultivation. With this educational background, Prof. Hairul Basri has in-depth expertise in soil science and agricultural cultivation, and is actively developing research related to land management, soil fertility, and sustainable cultivation systems to support environmentally friendly agricultural development.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Hairul Basri, M.Sc. is an environmental scientist focused on sustainable land and water management in Aceh, Indonesia. His research spans ecosystem health, land use, and agricultural practices, with a particular emphasis on understanding soil properties, vegetation impacts on microclimates, and species distribution. Prof. Dr. Ir. Hairul Basri, M.Sc. also examines the relationship between land cover and temperature, as well as the suitability of land for various agricultural uses, including dryland farming. Using tools like GIS and remote sensing, he assesses flood risks, water quality, and carbon storage potential in local ecosystems.
