Hanifa Rahmah, S.Hut., M.Si. is a researcher and academic in the field of forestry who specializes in forest ecology, agroforestry, conservation, and the utilization of non-timber forest products. Her research focuses on vegetation analysis and carbon storage in mature natural forests in Bener Meriah, as well as estimating the carbon potential of fast-growing species in the reclamation area of West Aceh Regency. She is also active in coastal ecosystem-based research through mangrove planting activities in the Lampulo Mangrove Park, Banda Aceh, as an environmental conservation effort. In the field of agroforestry, Hanifa researched the growth of sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria) and the productivity of lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus) in mixed cropping systems, and studied vegetation diversity in agroforestry systems in Sungai Sekonyer Village, Central Kalimantan. In addition, she also explored the potential of lemongrass oil as a biological agent to inhibit pathogens carried by sengon seeds, demonstrating the integration of conservation, forest productivity, and sustainable forest product utilization.
