Astri Winda Siregar, S.Hut., M.Sc. earned her bachelor’s degree (S1) in Silviculture from the University of North Sumatra. After that, she continued her master’s degree (S2) in the Forestry Study Program at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta. With this educational background, she has expertise in the fields of silviculture and forestry, particularly in relation to forest management, forest tree cultivation techniques, and efforts to conserve and rehabilitate forest ecosystems in a sustainable manner.

Astri Winda Siregar, S.Hut., M.Sc. is an academic and researcher in the field of forestry who focuses on forest ecology, carbon reserves, and sustainable natural resource management. Her research covers various important topics, such as the application of coffee agroforestry models to support social forestry in Bah Village, Central Aceh, and a comparison of above-ground carbon stocks in coffee agroforestry, secondary forests, and primary forests in the Gayo highlands. She also pays attention to forest area management by identifying forest stands in the Geumpang Protected Forest Area, Pidie Regency, as well as studying vegetation and carbon storage in mature natural forests at one of the industrial forestry companies in Bener Meriah Regency. In addition, Astri Winda Siregar also contributed to the issue of climate change mitigation through research on estimating blue carbon potential in mangrove ecosystems on Telaga Tujuh Island, West Langsa District. Through her work, she played a role in integrating aspects of ecology, conservation, and climate mitigation to support sustainable forest management.
