Iqbar, S.Si., M.Sc. completed his undergraduate degree (S1) in Biology at Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. He then continued his master’s degree (S2) at Georg August Universität zu Göttingen, Germany, focusing on Forestry, which broadened his knowledge and expertise in natural resource management. He then pursued his doctoral degree (S3) at Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, in Mathematics, which strengthened his analytical, modeling, and quantitative approach application skills in research. With this multidisciplinary educational background, Iqbar possesses unique competencies in integrating biology, forestry, and mathematics to support research and the development of science in the fields of the environment and biological resources.

Iqbar, S.Si, M.Sc is a researcher focused on agricultural sustainability, environmental conservation, and biodiversity in Aceh, Indonesia. Their work spans various areas, including the impact of wastewater on hydroponic farming, the use of natural growth regulators in crops, and the behavior and feeding habits of Sumatran orangutans. They also study the ecological effects of termites on forest plants and the spread of invasive species in eco-tourism areas.

Iqbar, S.Si, M.Sc conducts ethnobotanical research on medicinal plants used by local communities, supporting traditional knowledge and food security. Their forestry research examines timber species diversity and conservation in the Leuser Ecosystem. Additionally, they apply GIS and remote sensing tools for land suitability assessments and wildlife conservation, including hornbill populations.
